Rasaa is a representation of everything Mr. Venkataramana Reddy has stood for throughout his life. Brought up in a rural agrarian community in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh where the tropical conditions allowed the harvesting of bountiful varieties of mangoes, Mr. Venkataramana Reddy was very aware of the tribulation a farmer had to go through to get their produce into the market and sell at a fair price. While working as a C&F agent, he recognised huge export possibilities for natural mango products such as mango pulp and puree concentrates. Educating the farmers on the benefits, he motivated them to cultivate mangoes in abundance while he established a canning unit of mango pulp in the village, which essentially was the inception of Rasaa. Mr. Venkataramana Reddy thereby brought in many jobs to the community as well as guaranteed that the farmers’ efforts were being rewarded promptly and continues to work for the benefit of his community “to this day”.
